HELP FOR HEROES

Support our troops - they need it!!!

So far the team at the Crown has raised over £3000 for the charity. This charity is very close to our hearts, being ex serviceman we have many friends still serving, all of whom are suffering in one way or another.

We held many fundraisers including quizzes, bingo, poker, karaoke, music etc etc.

So what is it?

....  

	Launched on 1 Oct 2007 by Bryn and Emma Parry and a group of friends.
	Direct action. We support those wounded in the current conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.
	Tri service. Benefits Navy, Army and Royal Air Force.
	Cost effective. Based in a tin hut in Tidworth.
	Passion, not much pay. Largely volunteer structure with a small core team of employees.
	Simple. ‘Money in, money out’ to where it is most needed and directed by the experts.
	A fire extinguisher. Funds used to hose the areas where most needed.
	More money goes to the cause. The sale of products by Help for Heroes Trading Co Ltd covers most of the charity’s costs.
	Broad mandate. We support both capital projects and grants to specialist organisations to directly support the wounded.
	Supporting service charities. Royal British Legion, Combat Stress and SSAFA.
	New money. H4H is appealing to ‘new money’; people who have not previously donated to a service charity.
	Not political. Not critical, just getting on with the job.
	Effective. £12.5 million raised in first 12 months; 0.39p a second.
	Media support. The Sunday Times and The Sun back the appeal.
	Innovative. Web based, high tech.
	Do your bit. High profile events. Reliance on others to raise money through events.
	Royal and Celebrity support. City Salute and the Rugby Challenge match.
	Challenges. The Big Battlefield Bike Ride raised over £1million; more to come.
	A new way of raising money. Fun, vigorous, challenging, inclusive, and passionate about the cause.
	Help for Heroes; Doing Our Bit
